The Aquatic Department's mission is to immerse each individual in the benefits of water, providing clinical, recreational, educational, and performance enhancement programs in a safe, clean, caring and comfortable environment.

The Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center's state of the art facility includes two indoor pools at independent temperatures, an underwater treadmill and a highly experienced and educated staff. Our exclusive water classes cater to the diversity of our participants, enabling each individual to develop and enhance their unique aquatic abilities.

Vertical Programs

Aquatic Group Exercise - Over 40 different classes are offered weekly.
A sampling of classes include: Aquatic Body Conditioning, Deep Water Movement, Deep Water Running and Tai Chi.

Vertical Specialty Programs

Water Works/Land Works - Functional training for daily living in our aging adults. This class provides participants with the ability to be independent in day-to-day activity and in maintaining one's physical health.

Moms on the Move - Modified aquatic exercise, aerobics, strength training and yoga for expectant mothers.

Max Class - Deep water running class, enhancing your running performance without additional stress to the joints.

Horizontal Programs

Swimming 101 - Revisits the basics of swimming for adults. This group lesson focuses on technique, maneuverability, and safety of the swimmer while practicing correct lane etiquette.

Private Plunge - One-on-one, or two-on-one swimming instruction for ages 3-adult. All aspects of swimming, from basic life-saving skills to specified strokes for competitive performance are addressed.

Baby Bear-A-Cudas - Building aquatic readiness skills with children ages 6-36 months while strengthening the bond between parent and child

Fish Factory Swim School - Group learn to swim with a small student/teacher ratio for ages 3 and up.

Swimmin' Kids - Swim training designed to increase aquatic conditioning with particular instruction focusing on proper technique. Self-esteem and sportsmanship are developed through various drills, exercises, games and fun.

Fitness Swim - These year-round workouts are designed for swimmers of all abilities. Beginner swimmers who are looking to add swimming to their fitness program, lap-swimmers who want a structured-coached workout, and/or triathletes who want to improve their swimming ability may all participate.

Safety Programs

American Red Cross Lifeguard - Weekend courses available for certification in lifeguard training, first aid, CPR for the professional rescuer and preventing disease transmission.
