Performance Testing
What is it?
Why?
An evaluation of metabolic rate through the measurement of fat and carbohydrate utilization to determine the minimum level of energy required to sustain the body's vital functions at rest.
The results of this test can provide guidelines for diet and exercise programs based on an established energy baseline.
Body composition analysis through measurement of body density in water. Body fat percent as well as amount of lean and fat tissue are determined.
This is the gold standard for body composition analysis. Lung volume is measured and accounted for in the results producing an accurate measurement of body composition.
Measurement of "fatfolds" at various sites of the body to determine body fat percentage.
This is a simple procedure that provides a slightly less accurate estimate of body composition than underwater weighing.
An individual assessment comprised of fitness and wellness components, such as basic cardiovascular and pulmonary function, body composition, strength, flexibility, and basic blood work.
This evaluation establishes your fitness baseline and provides information used to determine your individualized fitness program.
An assessment of cardio-respiratory fitness through analysis of aerobic and anaerobic capacity as related to power, endurance and recovery. This test can be performed at a submaximal or maximal level.
This analysis measures your cardio-respiratory level and determines how your body specifically responds to exercise. This information is vital to proper exercise prescription and has proved to be a strong indicator of overall health.
Extensive blood biochemistry analysis includes cell counts, blood glucose, kidney/liver function, electrolytes, cholesterol-HDL, LDL, and triglycerides.
These lab tests measure many parameters of health and do not require physician referrals.
An in-depth and extensive functional and wellness assessment consisting of physiology, nutrition, and physician consultation. Tests measure basal metabolic rate, cardiovascular endurance, body composition, flexibility, strength and blood chemistry.
This is a comprehensive assessment used to improve overall health and fitness through lifestyle-enhancing instruction.
Sportscare provides the same specialized fitness assessments available to you for the Dallas area professional sports teams and elite athletes.
